About Us

What is Boso.com?

The Boso.com Team

Wow your essay is going that badly you decided to read about us? Well this probably won't keep you on the edge of your seats and to be honest, we’re only writing it because our essays are going just as badly. To keep ourselves (and maybe even you) entertained, we’ve given this page a bit of a mafia theme.

So Boso.com is the online marketplace where students can trade their second-hand stuff with other students, quickly and easily. It’s the smart way to turn your obsolete books into spending money, or to pick up some bargains before the beginning of term, thus leaving more cash for the finer things in life. It’s really easy to use, and items are sold for a flat price, so there's no need to keep checking back on something you want - you can just arrange to purchase it straight away. And because all Boso.com sellers are registered through their university email account, you can trust the identity of who you're trading with.

Apparently it is good to have some kind of mantra or mission statement for your company. We’re pretty lazy so we kept it to just three words: clean, simple and effective. We try and make sure everything we do reflects this. However if you have a better idea (or are simply appalled by our failure to construct a whole sentence) please email info@boso.com.

Boso.com Dons

The dons have been caught up in the Boso.com lifestyle since its beginning. They first brought Boso.com to the UK, escaping persecution and betrayal in Guantanamo (e)Bay. They decided to make a new life for themselves in Oxford. Their original means were humble and the Boso.com lifestyle back then was tough, nothing compared to the fast cars and glamour that now attracts hundreds of new members each week. The dons are wise, experienced and not to be messed with.

Harjeet Taggar, Head of the Product Innovation Family

Harj is a truly amazing person, he effortlessly carries the burden of being the father of the group (no prizes for guessing who is writing this, muhahahaha). Sexy, charming and intelligent all rolled into one big package. The biggest problem is trying to decide who he resembles the most, the creative spark of Branson or the sheer determination of Bill Gates? However we prefer to think of him as a one of a kind, a true inspiration to us all. As head of the Operations family, Harj is responsible for ensuring that things keep ticking over. He acts as the focal point and co-ordinator for inter-family meetings, a dangerous but necessary job.

Kulveer Taggar, Head of the Business Development Family

Kul started his entrepreneurial career by using his pretty boy looks to land a role as an Oxford Entrepreneurs model a few years ago. He was then captured and held hostage by a group of (rather well paid) German bandits. Kul did not break under severe pressure and fought his way to freedom, escaping to Bosoland where he set up the Business family. As head of the family, Kul ensures that only the very top tier investors, partners and affiliates are able to gain access to the inner circle of Boso.com trust. A mild mannered businessman by day, Kul has been known to deliberately deprive himself of sleep to bring out his feared alter-ego evil Kul.

Boso.com Soldiers

Boso.com soldiers are reputed for two things. Their loyalty to the Boso.com dons and their incredible ferocity. These are not people you want to meet down a dark alley on a Sunday afternoon. The gangsters work for the dons on a project by project basis, working their way up the chain until one day they can be the head of their own family.

Tom Blomfield

Tom has been a real Boso.com success story, the Taggar dons found him using the online synergy database (register at www.bouncewithit.com, create a profile and away you go). After meeting him, they thought he was a cool guy and asked him to help out building the website. Tom duly proceeded to do some mind-blowing stuff with the site and was given his own family to head. Tom is one of those people who can't refuse a challenge, so when we lay one down he never says “no”. He just says “ummm, possibly” and 9.8 times out of 10 he makes it happen. However like Kul, Tom also has a tendency to transform into a dreaded alter-ego (usually after one too many double vodka and redbulls).

Keren Mitchell, Fiddy Cent

Keren, aka ‘Kez’, aka ‘Fiddy’ is a true gangster; coming straight outta the mean streets of Hampstead. Boso’s marketing G, you’d struggle to find an area of Oxford outside of his iron grip but his tentacles extend well beyond just the one town, indeed it is rumoured that if required, Kez even has the contacts to promote the Boso.com name throughout Compton. Kez has quickly become part of the Boso.com family, so quickly in fact that few remember how he first joined; some say that Kul was forced to hire his services after being hung upside down from a 23rd floor balcony, others say he merely responded to a Facebook ad; sadly the truth has been lost for ever.

Sameer Chatoo, Lil Bow Wow

‘Big Sam’s’ fearsome reputation is sadly undermined by some unfortunate Facebook photos and one particularly dodgy haircut. Sameer has a finger in every pie and a girl in every town. Is there a woman around who can resist his smooth-talking charm? The only man brave enough to stand up to the fearsome Taggar cousins (and a source of constant heckling for Kul’s dress-sense - and jokes, and chat-up lines…), the Boso.com dons were left with little option but to recruit his services. A ruthless operator, Sameer will stop at nothing to accomplish his dream of working in a call-centre.

Boso.com Hired Hitmen

Paul Grier, GroovyTrain

Groovytrain have been with Boso.com from the early days, showing tremendous faith by offering us their design services. They provide us with fantastic web designs and they also let us work from their offices, we owe them a lot and are determined to prove their faith justified.

Evan Williams, Odeo

Evan brings some glitz and glamour to our team. As lead advisor we really couldn’t have wished for anyone better, a huge success and incredibly smart Evan is there for us to bounce ideas off and get an impartial opinion.

Boso.com Veterans

Daliso Zuze

Daliso was often referred to as the quiet assassin. His amazing levels of efficiency and commitment made him a favourite of the dons. They often referred to him as “Ronseal” because like that woodseal, Daliso does exactly what it says on the tin. Minimum fuss, maximum results. The dons were sad to see Daliso go but he yearned to move onto pastures new.

Sunjay Mathur

Sunjay was the definition of a rock, solid and steady as they come. If it wasn't for Sunjay, the dons would probably have blown all their money on a playboy lifestyle (with funds that would probably have bought them a couple of drinks at the local pub-cum-strip club and possibly a lap dance from one of the bouncers). Unfortunately Sunjay took on a mission that lead to his exile from the UK, he is currently believed to be residing in the US of A.

Vivienne Bearman

When the dons first began drawing up their original Boso.com plans on scraps of paper they made pretty diagrams of how they would divide up the team. However they lacked anyone willing to take up the “Marketing” mission. Then they found Viv who had real marketing experience and was bursting with ideas. Things were looking good again! However Viv decided that she had to embark on a quest of spiritual fulfilment and has retreated to a Buddhist monastery in northern Thailand.
